Transition to Solid Foods
How to prevent picky eating for a toddler?
You want your baby or toddler to become a confident and adventurous eater– it is possible! Positive, early exposure and feeding experiences can significantly impact their willingness to try new foods, develop healthy long-term nutrition habits, and improve or prevent picky eating.
Whether your child is already facing challenges with picky eating, difficulties chewing and swallowing, or you just want a smooth transition to solids, you can change their course and give them a lifetime of feeding success through therapist-led, easy-to-implement, science-based strategies.
Your first step is a free consult
We begin with a free consultation with Argie, our Feeding Therapist. Argie will assess whether your child’s behaviors are typical for their age and would benefit from adjustments in your feeding environment or routine through Parent Coaching, or if there are signs of a developing feeding disorder requiring targeted intervention from Feeding Therapy. In either case, Argie will give you specific tools and guidance for the confidence you need to tackle the transition to solid foods.
We can also assist you with guidance on purees, baby-led weaning, safe eating, and concerns you may have about nutritional intake.
How it Works
Choose virtual or in-home* services to promote changes where your child learns best–in the comfort of their home!

Your free consult call is an opportunity to discuss concerns about your baby or toddler's feeding with Argie, our certified feeding therapist, and to receive initial guidance from her for the best therapy approach for you and your child.
Step One, Intake Form: When you schedule your consultation call, you will also fill out a form with basic details about your concerns and your child's feeding, as well as any relevant medical history. Argie will review this information before your consultation.
Step Two, Consultation Call: During the call, both you and Argie can ask questions and discuss your concerns. Argie will recommend whether your child would benefit more from one-on-one Parent Coaching or if they show signs of underlying causes that will require a more comprehensive virtual or in-person evaluation with Argie. After this evaluation, you will have the option to begin Feeding Therapy with Argie.

Feeding Therapy is for babies or toddlers who require a comprehensive evaluation to identify root causes of feeding challenges and a tailored therapy program with ongoing support and therapy sessions with Argie, our feeding therapist.
Step One, Comprehensive Evaluation: The evaluation is designed to identify the root cause of your child's feeding difficulties. It can be conducted virtually or in person for families residing in New York and includes:
Onboard through our secure client portal to complete a medical and feeding history intake form and submit relevant past medical reports for background.
Submit home videos of typical feeding sessions and a 3-day food log detailing feeding habits, including quantities and any issues like gagging, spitting, refusal, or oral motor challenges.
In-home or Virtual Assessment that includes a comprehensive evaluation of your child’s oral and facial structures to spot potential structural issues, with live observation during a meal and guidance to improve feeding. Includes a Q&A time (1-1.5 hours).
Written Report drafted by Argie that provides a detailed summary of medical and feeding history, root causes of feeding difficulties, analysis, and a personalized treatment plan, plus any necessary referrals (delivered in 1 week).
Step Two, Virtual Follow-Up Session: You will review the evaluation findings with Argie, and discuss treatment goals and the proposed course of therapy including the recommended number of weekly sessions, and any external referrals needed (30-60 minutes).
After the Evaluation and Follow-up Session, Argie may recommend continued Feeding Therapy.
Feeding Therapy: Virtual or in-home Feeding Therapy is provided at your discretion to further support your child's progress and adjust recommendations as needed (30 minutes).

Parent Coaching is recommended when your baby or toddler is experiencing feeding difficulties that can be addressed through parent education, guidance, and tailored suggestions to meet your child's unique feeding needs and support your family's goals. Parent Coaching equips you with the tools and strategies you need to create positive outcomes for your child without them ever meeting a feeding therapist. Parent Coaching includes:
Step One, Feeding Foundations Virtual Session: This is your initial, 1-1 virtual meeting with Argie, your feeding specialist, who will educate you on child feeding development and how to implement changes in mealtime routines, schedules, and feeding approaches tailored to your child's needs (1.5 hours). Once complete, follow-up parent coaching sessions are provided at your discretion.
Follow-up Sessions: Virtual follow-up sessions with Argie, your feeding specialist, can further support your child's progress and adjust recommendations as needed (30 minutes).
Insurance & Billing: These educational sessions are not intended as feeding therapy and are therefore not covered by insurance.
